DRS contract for Minuteman Environment Control Systems

DRS Technologies, Inc. has announced today that it received a $23 million order from Northrop Grumman Corporation's Space and Mission Systems business in Clearfield, Utah, to provide replacement environment control systems (ECS) for electronic equipment and personnel of the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) launch and missile alert facilities.

Thales - new contracts for Royal Navy submarines

Thales UK has been awarded contracts initially worth £35m from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide long-term in-service support for the Royal Navy’s (RN’S) Trafalgar-, Vanguard- and Astute-class periscope systems. The contracts, which include the Contracting For Availability (CFA) programme, build on the existing support infrastructure in which the UK MoD has invested over many years.

Apache helicopter Arrowhead(R) system contract

DRS Technologies was awarded two contracts by the Missiles and Fire Control segment of Lockheed Martin Corporation to produce key components for the Apache helicopter Arrowhead(R) system. The two awards, for $31.4 and $28.5 million, push the total DRS awards to date for the Arrowhead program to more than $240 million.

General Dynamics - support to the Missile Defense Agency's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) program directorate.

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a contract by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide support to the Missile Defense Agency's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) program directorate. The contract has a total potential value of $191 million over five years if all options are exercised.

Lockheed Martin - Contract to demonstrate C-RAM interceptor system

Lockheed Martin has received an $8.6 million Science and Technology contract from the U.S. Army Research and Development Command (RDECOM) Missiles and Aviation Research and Development Center (AMRDEC) to demonstrate a Counter Rockets, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) interceptor system. Work on the contract will be completed by November 2008.

Northrop Grumman - Mine Detection Systems Earns Go-Ahead

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS) has received approval for low-rate initial production (LRIP) Lot 2 from the U.S. Navy. The company will produce three ALMDS units for approximately $25 million under the contract. It is anticipated that the company will produce 25 units over the next five years when the program enters full rate production in 2010. There is also potential for international sales.

General Dynamics - New processes to improve gun manufacture

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is investing in production equipment and accelerating its enterprise-wide focus on Lean/Six Sigma-based process improvements at its Saco, Maine, gun manufacturing facility to increase the plant's capacity. The site serves as General Dynamics' core production site for single- and multi-barrel aircraft and crew-served weapon systems.
