Lockheed Martin has announced that as of June 25 its team has launched a total of 12 target missiles, all successfully, since 2005 for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency under the Targets and Countermeasures Prime Contract.

GMLRS ROCKET INCREASES STANDOFF RANGE IN RECENT TEST

The U.S. Army recently established a new distance record for the Lockheed Martin Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rocket, destroying a target 85 kilometers from the launch site during a flawless system demonstration at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The previous maximum range for GMLRS was 70 kilometers.

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a contract by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide support to the Missile Defense Agency's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) program directorate. The contract has a total potential value of $191 million over five years if all options are exercised.
