A patent application has been granted for the taper locking key design of Orkot® Marine Bearings’, part of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in Rotherham, stern tube bearings manufactured in two material grades for commercial and naval vessels. The expanding key is a mechanical fixing option to bearing assembly by press fitting or chocking. This design allows for removal of the bearings without dry-docking the vessel. |
