Science Applications International Corporation has announced it has been awarded two contracts by the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) to support the Joint Electronic Fuels Management (JEFM) Project.
These single-award, prime contracts have a total contract value of AU $13.5 million (approximately US $12.5 million) over 49-months if all options are exercised. Varec Inc., an SAIC company, will perform work on the contracts at locations throughout Australia.SAIC will provide project management, logistics and systems engineering services to help the DMO design, test and integrate a Joint Fuels Information Management System (JFIMS) based upon Varec's FuelsManager(R) Defence software. Upon operational acceptance of the acquisition system, SAIC will establish a JFIMS Support Centre (JSC) in Melbourne, staffed to provide technical support and configuration management services for the new system throughout the contract. 'We look forward to helping the DMO implement JFIMS to enable more efficient and timely decisions regarding procurement, quality control and inventory management of bulk and ground fuels for the Australian Department of Defence,' said James Cuff, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. |
