Company to Provide Development Support to Federal and Defense Agency Programs
Science Applications International Corporation has announced it has been awarded a prime contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for the Defense Security Service (DSS) to provide development support to several agency programs. This multiple-award blanket purchase agreement has a one year base period of performance and three one-year options. The maximum dollar value for all task orders that can be awarded to SAIC is $49.3 million. SAIC's work on the contract will be performed primarily in Columbia, Md. DSS, an agency of the Department of Defense, provides the military services, defense agencies, 23 federal agencies, and cleared contractor facilities with security support services. Under this contract, SAIC will support development of enhancements to DSS' Joint Personnel Adjudication System, Industrial Security Facilities Database, Defense Central Index of Investigations, Electronic Network of Registration and On-line Learning, Learning Management System and the Investigative Records Repository. SAIC will help enhance these systems by developing and integrating new technologies as required. SAIC will also provide assistance in training, network security, and configuring and managing hardware, software, and external interfaces. 'We have supported DSS with quality system application development for the past nine years,' said Larry Cox, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. 'We look forward to continuing our support of this important customer and helping improve these vital systems.'
