TTI - New resettable Polyzen Zener / PPTC assemblies

Now available from TTI Europe is Raychem Circuit Protection's PolyZen, a polymer-enhanced, precision Zener diode micro-assembly, is designed to meet the growing need for over-current and over-voltage protection on portable equipment that uses barrel jacks for DC power input. PolyZen helps protect sensitive electronics from damage caused by inductive voltage spikes, voltage transients, incorrect power supplies and reverse bias.

SAFT - Al-Ago Batteries for Australian MU90 Torpedoes

Saft has been awarded a contract of around 5 million euros by DCNS, the French naval defence systems group, to supply Al-AgO (aluminium-silver oxide) seawater activated propulsion batteries for lightweight MU90 torpedoes currently under construction for the Australian Navy. The MU90, commercialised by EUROTORP, is a new generation torpedo designed to combat modern, deep-diving submarines carrying advanced countermeasures and Saft's unique Al-AgO battery technology makes a major contribution to its exceptional speed and agility by delivering the optimum combination of high power and excellent endurance.

Omnetics completes new Cleanroom Manufacturing Facility

ITT - VBN Circular Connectors for Mass Transit

TTI - DensiPac Connector Family

The DensiPac connector family is the first backplane connector system which can be installed fully automatically in surface mount (SMT) systems. Using SMT connectors at the module-to-backplane interface provides up to 30% lower component assembly costs. Surface mounting combined with using DensiPac connectors allows up to 576 pins per 100 mm of card edge, using four row modules on both sides of the card. The male (backplane) connector is available in two variations: SMT (25 mm long) and press-fit. The SMT connector can be automatically assembled along with all other SMT components and then reflow soldered.

Curtiss-Wright Corporation has announced that it has acquired the assets of Scientech, LLC of Idaho Falls, Idaho, for approximately $57.8 million.
