Teledyne TSS (International) Ltd. (published 13/11/2009)

Sentinel-Class patrol vessels belonging to the US Coast Guard Service will be equipped with high speed gyro compasses from Teledyne-TSS

Teledyne-TSS is pleased to announce that the Meridian Standard Gyrocompass has been chosen by L-3 Marine Systems as part of the US Coast Guard's new Sentinel-class patrol craft program.

The Meridian Standard gyrocompass utilizes a maintenance-free dynamically tuned gyroscope (DTG). In addition to its stable heading accuracy, the gyro will follow a high turn rate of up to 200 degrees per second.

Ted Curley, Regional Sales Manager, states, 'The Meridian Standard is perfectly suited for the ever-changing needs of a modern integrated navigation bridge system. It's small footprint, low-cost of maintenance and highly accurate performance suites the US Coast Guard's modernization plans perfectly. We are very excited to be part of this high profile procurement.'
