Airport systems innovator, Cavotec MSL, has recorded a series of ground support
equipment orders from three Turkish airports in recent months. The deals will see
the delivery of hydrant pit systems to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Antalya
Airport and Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
On completion of these three orders, Cavotec will become the leading supplier of hydrant pit systems in Turkey, says Cavotec UK Managing Director, Gary Matthews. The largest of the three orders is the previously announced agreement with Sabiha Gökçen International. Under the deal, Cavotec is delivering 112 fuel hydrant pit systems and isolation valve chamber covers. Located some 30 kilometers (20 miles) southeast of the Turkish capital Istanbul, the former military airfield is named after the worlds first female fighter pilot. Antalya Airport, situated on Turkeys south coast, has ordered 100 hydrant pit systems and 10 hi/low point drain pit assemblies. Low point drain pits are designed to remove non-fuel fluids and other contaminants that can accumulate in aircraft fuel pipelines, high point vent pits reomve air from the system. Cavotec will also supply 30 hydrant pit systems, six hi/low point pits and four access covers to Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Deliveries are scheduled for completion in June. The completion of the Turkey orders follows a resilliant start to the year for Cavotecs Airports market unit, with orders reported in China, India, Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Commercial and military airports throughout the world use Cavotecs innovative inground and pop-up pit systems to supply aircraft with air, water, fuel and power. The Group also supplies a broad range of aircraft cables, connectors, cable coilers, caddies, tow-bars and Pre-conditioned Air (PCAir) systems to airport operators worldwide. |
