The CARES unit is designed for children weighing between 22-44 lbs and occupying their own seat. Invented and patented by Louise Stoll, CARES weighs one pound, is simple to install and adjusts to fit virtually any size airplane seat.

Manufactured exclusively by AmSafe, the CARES unit is the first harness-type device to be approved by the FAA 'AmSafe combined its extensive expertise in aviation safety restraints with industry leading research and development to provide parents with the most effective safety device available for their children when they fly,' said Herb Mardany, vice president and general manager of AmSafe Aviation.

'We would like to thank Aircraft interiors organization and its panel of judges for the recognition of the CARES unit,' said Mardany. 'It is truly an honor to be represented with other participants in this category.'
