Aerolink Wales 2008 – the country’s premier aerospace business event takes place in Cardiff on Tuesday April 22 when more than 250 national and international trade buyers, suppliers and exhibitors are expected to attend.
The event, organised by Aerospace Wales Forum and supported by the Welsh Assembly Government, also includes an extensive conference and seminar programme with more than 520 one-to-one meetings arranged between buyers and suppliers.Wales is a centre of excellence for aerospace and in particular MRO related activities and home to more than 180 companies with annual sales in the region of £3billion (US$6billion). Six of the world’s top ten companies in the aerospace and defence sectors have an operation in Wales, where the sector employs in excess of 25,000 people. State-of-the-art facilities now manufacture, supply, maintain, repair and overhaul, civil and military aircraft from around the world. Welcoming national and international delegates to Aerolink Wales 2008 Ieuan Wyn Jones, Minister for the Economy and Transport, said the event was now in its fifth year and bigger than ever. “Aerolink Wales is now a key event in the aerospace calendar and a showcase for Welsh expertise.
