American Science and Engineering will supply further Z Backscatter Van detection systems for a customs agency in the Latin American region

American Science and Engineering (AS&E) has received a $5.3 million follow-on order for Z Backscatter Vans (ZBV) for a Latin American customs agency. Earlier this month AS&E announced it had received an $8.3 million order for multiple ZBVs for the same Latin American customs organization. The order includes operator training, service, and warranty.

'Our top-selling Z Backscatter Van has proven to be exceptionally effective for customs officials that need to detect threats, drugs, contraband, and stowaways at security checkpoints,' said Anthony Fabiano, President and CEO. 'The highly mobile and flexible ZBV X-ray system provides rapid inspections, finding threats in real time -- either as it drives past vehicles and objects or while stationary and operated from a distance.'
