Lockheed Martin - US Navy's MH-60R helicopter

Lockheed Martin has completed its initial deliveries of aircraft to the U.S. Navy's first operational MH-60R helicopter maritime strike squadron, the HSM-71 Raptors, ensuring the squadron is ready for its deployment with an aircraft carrier strike group. The San Diego-based pilot and crew departed with the aircraft July 24 for the three-day journey home from Owego, NY.

The U.S. Army recently established a new distance record for the Lockheed Martin Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rocket, destroying a target 85 kilometers from the launch site during a flawless system demonstration at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The previous maximum range for GMLRS was 70 kilometers.

Enhanced AN/TPQ-36 counter-fire target acquisition (EQ-36) radar tested

Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC)'s radar that is the prototype for Lockheed Martin's Enhanced AN/TPQ-36 counter-fire target acquisition (EQ-36) radar recently completed successful performance testing in 360-degree counter-fire mode against mortars and rockets at the U.S. Army's Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona. The prototype radar was developed by SRC under an Army Technology Objective.

The AMC-14 communications satellite, designed and built by Lockheed Martin for SES AMERICOM, an SES company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG),is ready for launch on March 15 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard a Proton/Breeze M launch vehicle provided by International Launch Services. AMC-14, which is scheduled to launch at 5:18 a.m. in Baikonur (March 14 at 7:18 p.m. EDT), will be located at orbital location 61.5 degrees West Longitude.

The NATO Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) Management Agency awarded a $66 million contract to incorporate the Lockheed Martin PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) Missile as the baseline interceptor for the tri-national program. The new interceptor increases the system's range and lethality over the baseline PAC-3 Missile, which was selected as the primary missile for MEADS when the design and development program began in 2004.
