Reed Exhibitions, a subsidiary of Reed Elsevier has recently acquired the IDEX show as well as two other shows formerly hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC). Reed Exhibitions has bought the rights to IDEX from ADNEC, which has sold the rights to all of its former trade shows and conferences to become a major exhibitions facility provider and development company. |

In the light of increasing international tensions in the Arabian Gulf, every Gulf nation is now in the process of building up its coast guard and naval defence forces. Accordingly, IDEX 2007 is placing increased importance on the naval aspect of the upcoming defence exhibition, which is taking place February 18-22, 2007 in Abu Dhabi. This week, IDEX representatives have joined military strategists and marine defence contractors from around the world who are attending the 20th International Naval Defence Show (Euronaval) in Paris from October 23 to 27. |
