Spend more - get less!
Once again the UK MoD gets it in the neck for mismanaging a defence contract. It seems that nothing is learned from previous examples of poor project management. However, I don't put all the blame on the civil servants or the service personnel involved in these events, it's the system that needs changing. You're not going to get the aforementioned civil servants etc competing on equal terms with the professional sales teams from the big defence companies. Perhaps it's time to bring in a few experts - poachers turned gamekeepers - to keep an eye on things. It'll cost a pretty penny but not as much as it's costing now. |
