Tense moments as spacecraft docks with space station

There will be some stressful moments ahead for the NLR operators at the Erasmus USOC in Noordwijk: on Thursday, 3 April, for the first time ever, a European supply spacecraft will automatically dock with the International Space Station.

Runway allocation system helps with smooth running of airport

Basel airport recently made a runway allocation advice system operation. Developed jointly by the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) and Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL), this system provides independent advice to air traffic controllers for allocating runways for take-off or landing.
Simulation program to speed up traffic at airports

The National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) recently purchased the airport simulation program Enterprise Dynamics / SAMANTA for research of airport processes and airport operations. The research aims to increase airport capacity with the current infrastructure and to optimise the flows of aircraft, passengers and baggage at airports.
NLR - 50th Anniversary

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the NLR facilities in Flevoland. In celebration, NLR organized a helicopter show and symposium on October 18, under the banner '50 Years of Helicopter Testing in the Noordoostpolder'
